Yoga Therapy is a form of complementary medicine (treatment used in conjunction with treatment by a medical doctor), and is usually prescribed by an MD, chiropractor, or other health care professional. A Yoga Therapist will use techniques from yoga to help people with illnesses and injuries. These techniques can include yoga asanas (poses), breathing exercises, meditation, and diet/lifestyle advice. Since yoga works to balance all aspects of a person, a yoga therapist can be helpful to someone with a condition which might be exacerbated by stress or lifestyle choices.
